The Chair of Red Palm Weevil Research was established in the College of Agriculture, King Saud University, in line with the policy to address the long standing problems faced by the farming community of the Kingdom.  The methods used so far have yielded limited success.  It is our commitment to not only conduct pioneering research in the area of management of RPW but also to integrate development as a part of the strategy.
  

No stone will be unturned to find ways and means to tackle this pest in a viable, rational, environmentally friendly manner to help the farmers protect their palms.  We will explore possibilities of collaborations wherever there is a need and include all tangible components for the overall success of the program.
